Incubus @ Bamboozle 2012

Mike & I went to see Incubus at the Bamboozle Festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey yesterday~ it was actually my first music festival and first general admission Incubus show.

Not the best show I've been to but Incubus was on their game, like always.  Their hour long set seemed to go by so fast, but I really think they stole the entire show!  Skrillex came out in a spaceship or something afterwards...nice try buddy, but your little spaceship can't compete with real rock 'n roll!

On the whole I thought Bamboozle was pretty lame.  They had an awesome location right on the beach & some great lineups but there just wasn't much to do and the crowd SUCKED.  I have never seen so many mean people together in one place before.  I had made my way all the way up to the front of the main stage but unfortunately everyone was seemingly only there to push, shove, and cause deliberate physical harm.  Like, I had guys (refuse to call them men, just pathetic BOYS) ramming me with their elbows purposely to try and make me move...they can go to hell!  Eventually I found my way back to Mike and hung back a bit, where the situation was a bit better but still not entirely enjoyable.

Today, I am beat.  My body is so tired and sore, I feel like I've been hit by a truck.  I will probably avoid music festivals from now on, just doesn't seem to be my thing...although I won't rule it out completely, I don't wanna miss any chance to see Incubus in the future!

Incubus @ Sands Bethlehem Event Center

Took a little road trip to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania yesterday to see Incubus live at the Sands Bethlehem Event Center~ It's the furthest I've ever traveled to see them but it was so worth it!

Got there pretty early so I hung around the Sands casino with my buddy Ken, and grabbed a monster burger at Emeril's Burgers & More.  Soon enough, the doors were open and we snagged a nice spot on the balcony.

Was an amazing show, as usual!  Got to hear a bunch of songs live for the first time...they opened with 'Privilege' (which has always been a dream opener of mine), and played some of my favorites like 'Isadore', 'If Not Now, When?', & 'Leech'.

It's so unbelievable that time & time again Incubus puts on such a great show, they never disappoint.  I will never tire of seeing them live for as long as I live!  Seriously, can I just quit my job and make a career out of following them around the world? /wishful thinking

So psyched to be seeing them again tomorrow at the Bamboozle Festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey!

What to Wear to Graduation

Congratulations to the class of 2012!  So many of my friends are graduating this spring, I'm so proud & happy for all of them.  If you're graduating as well, good for you too!

My friend Mandy asked me to help her pick out shoes for her NYU graduation, so I was inspired to create some graduation looks.  I'm sure most graduates probably have their outfits picked out by now, but if not here are some ideas~

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

I got a sample of Fresh's Soy Face Cleanser from Sephora a while ago, finally got around to trying it~

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

fresh soy face cleanser
"The Soy Face Cleanser instantly whisks away everyday impurities and makeup—even mascara—without stripping the skin of essential moisture. Rich in amino acids, soy proteins promote moisture retention, elasticity, and firmness. Rosewater balances and tones the skin. Fragrance-free and soap-free, calming cucumber extract and nourishing borage seed oil enriches its formula."

Unfortunately this product doesn't really do much of what it claims to do, for me anyway.

It has a very thick texture and doesn't rinse easily.  After rinsing, my skin is visibly red & irritated which leads me to believe that this cleanser could potentially clog my pores & reak havoc on my face!  Even though this product doesn't contain sulfates, synthetic dyes, or fragrances and claims to be able to remove eye makeup...I wouldn't want to use this on my eyes.  After seeing the adverse effects it had on my skin, I can't imagine that it would have any good results on my eyes.

It also has a really unpleasant scent...

 Overall: 2/5

This is definitely not a cleanser for people like me with oily, sensitive skin.  It might work better for people with dry skin, but the residue it leaves behind after rinsing is just not good for anybody!

Ours is the Fury

Sharp Shirter has some super cool new iPhone cases, and they sent me one to review~

Since I am so utterly & completely obsessed with Game of Thrones (having just finished the last book in the Song of Ice and Fire series, I don't really know what to do with my life anymore...), I chose the Deer Forest iPhone case in honor of Renly Baratheon.  Goodnight, my peach king!

I really like this case!  It comes apart, so it's easy to put on or take off.  It also has a soft grippy texture, which I really appreciate!  My previous case was really slippery, I was dropping my precious gadget all over the place.

Sharp Shirter offers a quirky collection of cool graphic tees & hoodies for men, women, and kids.  Their designs revolve around the relationship between animals & humans...the ones we eat, the ones we protect, and the ones we fear.  Each graphic tells a different & unique story.
