In the blink of an eye summer is coming to an end! End of summer means the days are getting shorter, it's time to stock up on fall & winter staples...and in the past couple of years, it's come to mean Incubus concerts!
I'd been waiting all summer to see Incubus at Jones Beach! They're playing the Honda Civic Tour with Linkin Park. After having a terrible day (bad day at work, thunderstorms, flooded streets) I was super psyched to get to the venue. The Nikon at Jones Beach Theater is huge and it was a sold out show, but my friend Ken got us awesome tickets all the way up front in the 8th row!
Incubus rocked my face off, what else is new? It rained through their entire set and I got soaked, but I didn't mind. It was actually kinda cool! There was one point in the show where the rain slowed down to a drizzle, but I noticed that I was getting hit with raindrops to the beat of the music. Incubus was rocking so hard that I was getting hit by water coming off of the overhang of the stage. They were literally making it rain. So amazing.
This was only the second show of the tour, and the band seemed like they were really into it & having fun. Brandon said that he loves New York & he loves playing here. They played a lot of songs off their older albums, and they actually played one of their B-sides "Rebel Girls" live for the very first time!
Most Incubus shows have been bittersweet for me in some way or another, but this one especially since the band has announced a hiatus after this tour. They've done this before, so I'm not worried. I know they'll be back again someday, better than ever with new music that will continue to blow my mind.
Until then, thanks Incubus! I'm looking forward to next time and all the good things this time off will bring~
Incubus always amazes me in concert. One of the best sets I have ever seen was by them several years ago. I definitely want to catch them on this tour after watching some of the videos from HQ Live.

Same, I'm blown away every time! I was lucky enough to catch them in a couple of intimate shows last summer, probably the closest thing to an HQ Live experience. Seeing them in a setting like that is so much more amazing and different from any other show I've ever been to. I hope you get a chance to catch them on tour before their hiatus!
