The last weekend of summer has come and gone. For me, it was bittersweet. I was really sad to see the summer end, but it was also time for a long-awaited Incubus concert at Jones Beach! I feel like I had bought the tickets for this show ages ago~
Spent the afternoon at the beach with Mike, had dinner at Five Guys, and then it was time for the show.
They rocked! I'd never been to an outdoor concert before, it was nice to enjoy Incubus in the open air under the stars. They played a nice mix of songs, and the light show & visuals for this tour are awesome!
But the show at Jones Beach was just the beginning...last week I tried my hand at Incubus trivia, and I actually won a pair of tickets to a second show at PNC Bank Arts Center in New Jersey!
Mike was totally Incubus'd out (IMPOSSIBLE) so I invited my BFF from high school, Mandy, to come with me~ it was my first time driving to Jersey and it was super stressful because we hit traffic & I was afraid we were going to be late..but we made it and everything worked out okay.
I stopped by the Incubus HQ tent before the show, where Cisco was about to start some lyric trivia. My trivia skills had gotten me this far, so I figured why not try again?
I am obviously the master of Incubus trivia, because I WON! Didn't even break a sweat. I won a vinyl album autographed by the band! It's beautiful, I can't wait to frame it and hang it on my wall. There's a video of my triumph, but it hasn't been uploaded yet. I'll share the link here when it's posted~
And then it was time for another Incubus show. The last one of the summer.
This show was amazing. Our seats were in the 8th row, center stage...I've never been so close up at an arena show before! I heard so many of my favorite songs that I never expected to hear live. The crowd and energy at PNC was so alive, the band was totally feeling it too. They looked like they were having a really good time playing for us!
I didn't even mention the best part! My tickets came with meet & greet passes, I got to meet the band and get their autographs! Honestly it feels like a dream...I was so nervous that I didn't even say much to most of the guys! I wish I could go back in time to really express to them how much I love their music and how they've inspired me...but, yeah.
I did talk to the guitarist, Mikey, a lot. He actually remembered me from the front row at the show in Soho! He was super friendly and so easy to talk to. He thought my necklace was cute and we talked about Long Island. He stood next to me for our group photo too~
Can't believe that I've seen Incubus five times over the past summer. I've been an Incubus fan for 10 years, almost half of my entire life...I didn't think it was possible but I've become even more of a fan now. I feel really lucky and I'm so grateful for all of these experiences. I'll always be a fan, and I'll cherish these moments forever!
