Neutrogena's Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover

Lately my favorite eye makeup remover by L'Oreal Paris, which I reviewed here, hasn't been in stock.  So instead I've been using Neutrogena's Oil Free eye makeup remover~

This one is very similar to L'Oreal's makeup remover.  It's around $8 and available at most drugstores.

Using a minimal amount, it effortlessly removes even waterproof makeup & eyelash glue.  I also like that it comes in a larger size than L'Oreal's, so I don't have to buy it as often.

I only have one complaint about this one.  While it doesn't leave my skin feeling oily, it makes it really dry!  The past few nights I've been lazy and going to bed with makeup on (totally breaking my new year's resolution, so bad!), so when I use this makeup remover in the morning I'm left with dry & cracked skin.  So that's kind of a bummer, but as long as I use it at night and follow it immediately with an eye cream it's fine.  It's just more incentive for me to wash my face before bed!

 Overall, I think it's a pretty good product & I'll keep using it until L'Oreal comes back in stock~

Party Animals

Last weekend I had my 21st birthday party at Zebra Lounge in Flushing~

 Zebra Lounge was mad nice, it was my first time there and I was really happy with it.  Pricing was good, the room was gorgeous, and the karaoke system was easy to use!

Birthday Manicure

A few days ago I got my nails done at Marie Nails in Manhattan~

I've only ever gotten a manicure twice before, but Eden talked me into going and I thought it'd be nice for my 21st birthday.  So I made an appointment for a cal-gel manicure!

I was a little bit nervous about going by myself, but at the same time I was really excited and started cooking up design ideas.  When the time came for my appointment I found the salon with no problem, but it turns out that I'm an idiot and made the wrong type of appointment so they didn't allot enough time for me to get extensions...

Still, the girls at the salon were really nice!  I didn't catch the name of the girl who did my nails, but she was quiet & super sweet.

So anyway, onto the nails~ they're short but still cute.

Cal-gel glitter gradation with leopard print design on five fingers~

The cal-gels are sooooo nice!  The whole process took about an hour, and it came out to $52.  It seems like a lot for a manicure but consider this...the cal-gels don't scratch, they don't chip, they're super strong, they stay super shiny, and they last for about a month!  I love that I don't have to worry about ruining them, I think they're totally worth it.

Happy Birthday to Me

Today is my 21st birthday!

Mike took me out to dinner~  We went to Houlihan's in Westbury.

A horrible photo, but it's the only one of me with my first legal drink~ a strawberry mojito!  Our waiter didn't even ask to see my ID, it was anticlimactic and I was kind of disappointed haha..

I ordered Tuscany Lemon Chicken~ it looks icky here but it was super yums!

I got presents too! Mike gave me cute stud earrings and a gift card for a shopping spree~ Permission to drag him around shopping with me, yay!

 

My mom gave me this "Always 21" pendant necklace, and along with it she gave me a note~

"Your great-grandma Millie & I shared our birthday and so much more.  On my 21st birthday she gave this to me along with the story of how great-grandpa Joe gave it to her.  He gave it to her on her birthday and told her that whatever her age, she would always be 21 in his heart.  It has been mine for 30 years, waiting for this day to give it to you.  Wear it always in good health, happiness, and love until maybe someday you will have a little girl to give it to."

I love it!  It was really sweet, and I love the history that comes with it.  I feel really lucky to have it.

Thanks to my friends & family for all the birthday wishes, and thanks to my boyfriend for a wonderful day!  Being 21 is great so far~ 

First Puri of 2011

After taking a day to recover from new year's eve festivities, yesterday I got to spend some time with my girl Eden in Flushing~

We did some shopping and took some purikura!

I'm so jealous of Eden's makeup in these shots!  Mine is just...no.
