Lovelyshoes.net Review

I've heard lots of good and bad things about Lovelyshoes.net.

Since they finally stopped requiring a minimum order amount, I decided to give them a try.  They have such a huge selection of cute shoes, I just had to see for myself.

My order was prepared and shipped in just 6 days, and it arrived in 5.  I was surprised and disappointed at the shipping price, it cost almost as much as the shoes themselves!

But anyway, here are my new shoes~

Love these little heeled booties, the natural color is so nice!  Unfortunately these are a very tight fit, I'm not sure if I'll be able to pull them off...

Nice flats for work.  When my mom saw them she said "Well, you can't wear them.  It's after Labor Day!"  Not that I really care about the Labor Day rule but now she has me worried about what my co-workers will think.  Stupid.

Another pair of flats for work.  These are a bit small as well.  I wore them for 6 hours today to school & work, it was kind of painful if I had to do a lot of moving around...but then I'd sit & rest and it would be okay.  Once I took them off my feet were fine, so I think it's okay to wear them on the days when I'm working short hours.

Grey knee-high boots.  These are very thin and flimsy, it was hard to get a good picture of them.  They look better when the tops are folded down.  I think they'll look cute with leggings or super skinny jeans.

Tan boots.  These are the perfect autumn boots!  I love the sock detail at the top, it's so cute & unique~

Really cool black ankle boots!  These are similar to the ones I bought from Zipia.net but without the heel, so they're much more casual.  These are so comfortable...they're nice & roomy and they look great with jeans!  I'm probably going to wear these a lot!

I've been wanting black motorcycle boots forever!  I'm so picky when it comes to minute details, but I finally found the perfect pair!  These look kind of flimsy when they're not worn, but once I put them on they're just perfect~

So I've got a pretty nice haul!  And at $9-13 per pair, these shoes were a steal!  It's so nice to be able to get so many shoes at such a good price.

The best thing is, the shoes that get shipped to you look exactly the same as the ones pictured on the website.  They have such a large selection, and new items are added everyday!

The only bad things that I have to say about Lovelyshoes.net is that the shipping is pretty ridiculous, and it seems that the sizes run a bit small.  Otherwise I think it's really great!

Check out the great selection of shoes & handbags at Lovelyshoes.net!

New Job

I started working a new job a month ago.  This post is kind of delayed, hehe~

Towards the end of summer I got really fed up & finally reached my breaking point with my old job.  I immediately started searching for something new, and I was lucky enough to find something after just a few weeks of searching.

The only catch was that the new job was putting me on a two-week trial period before they officially hired me...so I had to continue working my other job, on top of going to school full-time.  For two weeks, I endured HELL.

The two weeks went by & I was over-worked, stressed, exhausted, and unhappy...but I still did not get the official word that I had been hired.  So I continued working two jobs for another week.

Finally, at the end of the third week I had enough.  Something happened at my old job that was just the final straw for me, and I quit right on the spot.  The timing could not have been more perfect, because now I was free to work more hours at the new job and prove that I really belonged there.

Well I have been working this new job ever since, and I think it's safe to say that I have the job.  Things have been going really well, and everyone really likes me.

The new job is in a medical office, a 45 minute drive from my house.  It's really great because I'm actually studying medical office technology.  There are plenty of opportunities for me to advance in this office once I graduate, so it's nice to know that I have at least one option.

I am so much happier now than I was a month ago.  I feel like my life has really turned around.  I'm working a lot more hours now (and also making a lot more money!!) but I don't even care, I hated my other job so much.  No more being an underappreciated driver, I'm an office girl now!  It feels so good to wear nice clothes & heels, like a real working woman~

Sorry for the TL;DR block of text.  But I felt weird not mentioning my new job at all in my blog!

Thanks to all of my wonderful friends who cheered me on through all this!  Couldn't have done it without your support~

Too Faced's Naked Eye

I've been dying to get my hands on Urban Decay's Naked eyeshadow palette, but it's sold out everywhere!

I've really been in need of some glam eyeshadow, so I decided to try this Naked Eye palette by Too Faced~
too faced naked eye palette

Satin Sheets & Lap Dance are my favorites!

It comes with three cards demonstrating how to use these colors to create different looks.

Here's my rendition of the "Classic" look~

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
Too Faced Eyeshadow in Birthday Suit
Too Faced Eyeshadow in Satin Sheets
Too Faced Eyeshadow in Unmentionables
Too Faced Eyeshadow in Stiletto
Avon Professional Kohl Eyeliner in Black
Avon Perfect Wear Liquid Liner in Black
Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara in Very Black
Maybelline Volum' Express Turbo Boost Mascara in Very Black

When I first tried this I felt like it was such a heavy look, but it's actually quite simple.  It's really easy to do too~  It's become my new everyday look!

What do you think?

Eighth Avenue Autumn Festival

Yesterday I went to the Eighth Avenue Autumn Festival in Manhattan with Mike, Eden, and Yi!

It was a street fair with lots of vendors & yummy food that stretched out over 10 city blocks long!

The vendors actually had some decent stuff.  I succumbed and spent a little more than I wanted to...I had to keep myself away from all of the pretty scarves, they were enticing!

Everything was pretty cheap~

I'm addicted to pretty hairclips like these!  I got all 3 of them for $10~

I got 4 Lancome eyeshadows for $12, normally they're $17 apiece!  The compact came free, I have yet to confirm if these are real though...

Mike bought me this gorgeous charm with my name on it!  I love it so much!!

After all that walking at the street fair, we were hungry!  So we headed over to Benihana, where Yi and Ain work!

Benihana is a Japanese hibachi restaurant, where the chef cooks right in front of you at your table!  It's such a fun & exciting dining experience~

Our chef, Tenzin, was super funny.  He kept throwing things into his hat and giving ingredients funny names (soy sauce=coca cola)~

There was so much food!  Soup, salad, chicken fried rice, grilled zucchini, and grilled shrimp.

Mike and I both ordered the Hibachi Steak with mushrooms.

SO GOOD.

We all went home super full and happy~

Happy Weekend!

Yay, it's the weekend~

Today was a kind of lazy day, I spent most of it relaxing at home.

Mike just bought a fancy new camera, the Canon EOS 7D.  We went out today and took some pictures with it.

Mike is now the official photographer for my blog, since his camera is 10 billion times better than mine!  The quality is so amazing!!

And now that I have a photographer, I present to you...

MY FIRST COORDINATE POST

TUNIC; Law Jeans CAMISOLE; Aerie SHOES; modcloth.com TIGHTS; yesstyle.com ACCESSORIES; Guess, H&M

Eden's Birthday

Last night I went to Eden's 20th birthday party at Place @ Main, in Flushing~

It was such a fun night!  I've been so stressed out the past few weeks, it was great to just kick back and finally spend some time with my friends.  I've missed everyone so much, and I met some cool new people too!

It was my first time at Place @ Main, it's really cool!  Definitely the best KTV bar I've been to, their sound system is awesome!  The VIP room that Eden booked for the party was really nice too~ their drinks are a little expensive though...

One of the highlights of my night was getting to sing some Cake with Mike~  I was really surprised that those songs were available!  And of course the current hits by Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Rihanna were fun too!

Everyone, especially the birthday girl, was looking fabulous!

Hehe, poor Mike drank a little too much so I've been taking care of him all day...

Love you Eden!  Hope you had an amazing birthday~
